China Southern Airlines is revolutionizing the air travel experience with the launch of two new flagship aircraft, the A350-900 and the A321NX. These state-of-the-art planes are engineered to deliver an unmatched level of luxury, comfort, and sophistication, setting a bold new benchmark for modern air travel.

In a strategic move to elevate its service offerings, China Southern has collaborated with London-based design studio Tangerine to redesign the interiors of 10 A350-900 and 20 A321NX aircraft. This partnership is part of the airline’s larger vision to modernize its fleet and enhance passenger experience across all classes. The new interiors are set to drastically transform the carrier’s reputation, signaling a shift toward a more refined, high-end travel experience.

One of the standout features of the new fleet is the introduction of private suites. These exclusive spaces will provide an extraordinary level of privacy and comfort, propelling China Southern’s fleet into the upper echelon of luxury air travel. While the airline has not confirmed if these suites will be classified as ‘Business Studios’ or ‘First Class’, their design suggests a premium offering tailored for the most discerning travelers. Every A350-900 will feature four private suites, along with 24 business class seats and 307 economy seats, ensuring a diverse yet balanced configuration. Meanwhile, the A321NX will offer 12 business class seats and 171 economy class seats, meeting the needs of all passengers.

The seating revolution doesn’t stop there. The A350-900 will be equipped with the latest Thompson Vantage XL+ seats, a major upgrade from the previous Vantage XL. These wider, more comfortable seats have been specifically engineered to optimize the A350’s fuselage, offering additional legroom and improved knee clearance. For business class passengers, the redesigned seating and revamped in-flight entertainment (IFE) system provide a new level of comfort, with screens repositioned to allow for greater space and ease of use.

Perhaps the most luxurious addition to the new aircraft are the Thompson Vantage XL+ First suites. Designed to provide an all-business-class experience, these suites feature a bed length of 80.8 inches and are equipped with flexible companion seating and adjustable dividers, allowing passengers to customize their level of privacy or interact with others in a shared, upscale environment. This versatile design elevates the flight experience, offering both seclusion and social opportunities in a refined, high-end setting.

Beyond seating, the collaboration with Tangerine extends to the graphical user interface (GUI) of the in-flight entertainment system. This bespoke design complements the aircraft’s sleek interior, offering a seamless, intuitive, and immersive entertainment experience. Every detail, from the layout to the GUI, is carefully curated to enhance the passenger’s journey, aligning with China Southern’s commitment to delivering excellence at every touchpoint.
